| Words & Rythm - Evening Lounge Series - Pat Braden & Gregory Scofield |
 |
When: 2/10/2009 - 2/10/2009
Where: UnWine'd Lounge Howe at St. Davie
Show Description: 9pm
UnWine'd Lounge features an array of Talking Stick Festival artists and more. To cap off the evening's entertainment, join us at the Lounge where we welcome special guests and emerging artists to share new works, stories, and to foster casual conversation between audience and artists. Intimate performances will be held, including Métis poet Greg Scofield & North West Territories’ singer/storyteller Pat Braden
Singer and Storyteller Pat Braden performs excerpts from A Place to Call Home, a musical journey through northern landscapes and realities, while touching northern lights, blending spoken word, songscapes and musical textures on the Chapman Stick.
Gregory Scofield is one of Canada’s leading Aboriginal writers whose five collections of poetry have earned him both a national and international audience. He is known for his unique and dynamic reading style which blends oral storytelling, song, spoken word and the Cree language. His maternal ancestry can be traced back to the fur trade and to the Métis community of Kinosota, Manitoba. His third collection of poetry, Love Medicine and One Song will be re-released by Kegedonce Press in 2009.
